'Projet electronica déstructuré, à la fois sonore et mélodique, de trés bonne qualité, Martin est la réunion de plusieurs personnalités : Margrave Ruediger, Trombone, Tin.RP, Moon et The Guy Who Invented Fire.De fait, cette fusion n'est pas sans rappeler celle de James Plotkin et Celluloid Mata dans le Triffid Project ( Vaccum / Antzen ) ou en d'autres lieux Ultra Milkmaids. Débutant par un "Vostok, Vladi Vostok" à la voix féminine enchanteresse et au rythme entraînant, le combo n'aura de cesse d'alterner les pages les plus variées ( de la chanson électronique frappée et glacée du début, en passant par l'intrusion inquiétante d'un jumeau d'Enio Morricone downsamplé sur un obscure "Ring My Bell", au trés dancing "Mockba Rocketa" et sa house dégénérée pour finir sur un trés Jaeger - compteur - et cuté "The Atomic Age" ).' elegy#29 ( Francois Marlier )


'Les extrêmes s'attirent.A n'en pas douter, voilà un album que ses auteurs doivent trouver assez pop...Tout est une question de référentiel, et ce qui est naïf et ludique pour les uns sonne furieusement abstrait et bruitiste pour les autres.Pourtant, de quelque point de vue que l'on se place, on se doit de relever l'importance du choc, et constater que la nécessité intuitive des contrastes fait surgir quelque chose d'inédit.Ainsi, aux confins de l'électronique expérimentale, cinq formations de la scène para mélodique underground - Margrave Ruediger, Trombone, Tin.RP, Moon et The Guy Who Invented Fire - ont uni leurs forces et leurs dispositifs numériques pour donner le jour à un combo détonnant, MARTIN'S TROMBONE ON THE MOON.Le résultat est d'une fraîcheur boulversante, bien que la moindre sonorité fasse appel, de tout son pitch, de toute son enveloppe,à l'acoustique en anaérobie du home studio electro, Cubase et consort...Bidouillages informatiques dignes d'un astronaute chinois, cortège de "glitches" et pulsations désordonnées, l'éléctronique déborde joyeusement son rôle d'arrangements pour se hisser au niveau d'une parole, d'un language en lui même. Pourtant, ici et là se greffe un échantillon de voix mutante, customisée, bardée d'effets.Cette présence discrète finit par se rendre indispensable, tient bientôt lieu de partie de chant, habitant littéralement un univers déjà, par essence, profondément décalé. 'Although one can't be sure about the validness of the title, the release 'Deserts Will Bloom Through Atomic Power' is a joint release by Margrave Ruediger, Tin R.P and The Guy Who Invented Fire. It's a short release, just over 21 minutes (but burned on a big CDR) and has a more or less thematic approach about space travelling and atomic thingies. I think these people love their old, analogue synthesizers very much as they present a some nice, quirky electronic music with small nice melodies, up tempo rhythms and voices. Much more poppy then I would expect from this otherwise underground techno and noise label. It's still in a raw state, but it's a distinct breakaway from their previous releases and is certainly one very nice release.' staalplaat, vital weekly #380


'This is one of the strangest things that has hit my cd player in a while and that\\\'s a good thing. This project is made up of Margrave Ruediger& Trombone, Tin.RP & Moon, and The Guy Who Invented Fire. What this mob of people bring on this 21 minute ep are seven songs of samples and electronics bathed in a small room reverb, which probably accounts for its overall strange sound. The music is a bastard blend of 50s scifi films\\\' bloops and bleeps with laptop precise beats and noises. Some of the tracks contain voice samples, which makes me think that it would be interesting to hear this group with a proper vocalist. This first track hints at such a concept, with its snippets of female dialogue, albeit somewhat mangled. This is fun, freaky, alien music great for your next party. 'This disc is apparently a collaboration between Margrave Ruediger, Trombone, Tin.RP, MooN, and The Guy Who Invented Fire. Of the projects listed, the only one I am familiar with is Tin.RP, so I can't tell who made what at all. But I definitely want to hear more material from all involved. I'm not sure how the material was compiled, but the tracks here all come off as planned out finished pieces. There is a large chance I'm mistaken and it was all randomly slapped together, but it doesn't sound that way, though it would explain the overall spastic energy and variety of the material. This is somewhat hard to classify, but most of the sounds here could fit somewhat neatly under the terms glitch, experimental, and noise, though none of the audio here is of a intensely harsh nature.
The 20 some minutes of material here never get boring, the previously mentioned spastic movement and energy of the pieces making them amazingly satisfying. One second a sinewave is squeaking rapidly above your heard, the next, ambient sweeps and odd samples are taking control of your senses, and then a distorted synth pulse throws you to the ground and begins to rapidly hump your leg, and then it all changes yet again. Unfortunately,this is limited to 60 copies, so you best get your dirty hands on it before it fades into oblivion. Highly recommended.' industrial.org ( Royce Icon )
